Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the questions students and teachers ask most often.
How do I sign in?
/static/ektu/docs/google-login-ru.7bb029846311.pdfUniversity students and staff sign in with the Sign in with Google button using their university account; there is no need to create a separate password. See the Instructions (PDF).
External learners register the usual way, with their own email address.
I cannot sign in: my account is not linked, or it says the email is already taken
This usually happens when two accounts exist for the same address: one created through Google and another created by regular registration with a password. Such accounts conflict with each other.
You cannot fix this yourself, the engineers have to do it. Write to us by email and include the email address you are trying to sign in with.
How do I enroll in a course?
Open the course page in the catalog and click Enroll. If the button is unavailable, enrollment is closed, the course has already finished, or enrollment is by invitation only, in which case the teacher will enroll you.
Where can I see my grades?
Grades for assignments are available inside the course, in the Progress section. They are updated as soon as your work has been graded.
When will my certificate appear?
A certificate is issued once you reach the passing grade. By default it becomes available after the course end date, so it may not be there straight after you submit your last assignment.
If the course has finished and you reached the passing grade but there is still no certificate, write to us by email.
Something went wrong during the exam and my attempt was lost
Tell the course teacher: an attempt can be reset, but only with their approval. If the problem is technical and keeps happening, also report it by email.
What is the difference between edx.ektu.kz and open.ektu.kz?
edx.ektu.kz is the platform for university students; its courses are part of the study process.
open.ektu.kz is the open platform: its courses are available to everyone, not only to students.
Where do I report a technical problem?
Write to us by email. To get an answer faster, include your email address, the course name, what exactly you were doing, and a screenshot of the error.
Did not find your question?
